Satellite maps are great. When I say this I am not thinking at their size, but the effect that they have in our current life. We can travel leaded by GPS locators, we can see the Earth from space, or the hidden things that neigbour have in his backyard… and even more!

If you use Google Maps or Google Earth and go to coordinates: 31 15′15.53N 24 15′30.53W, then you will have a big surprise. Deep on the bottom of the ocean, there is a pattern of streets or walls, marking a kind of human designed place. An ancient town? Maybe, but then is a huge one….

The guys from Google maps comes with an explanation. They said that there are “ships traks”, or to be more exactly, traces from their sonar emissions. Why only there? And why so sharply printed on the bottom of the ocean?

Of course, there are people still waiting for Elvis to sing from an exotic country, or waiting for green tiny people to say hello. They might believe this explanation, but I don’t. I am not saying that Atlantis has been found, but for sure there is more down there that simple sound footprints in the sand.

21st December 2012 is a date predicted as the day when humanity will come to an end, at least in the form as we currently know it. Not only scientists, but also Hollywood producers were attracted by this fatidic event to come.

Remember Dracula? He comes from a book, not from Transylvania. Similar, the apocalypse of 2012 is much more related to mass media and cinema than is related to science and historical documents.

The strongest argument of 2012-theory fans is that the Mayan Long count calendar is finishing in 2012. So what? Maybe the writer died, or get bored of writing calendars… Seriously now, the cycle ending theory is described in the book named Popol Vuh , recorded in Guatemala in the XVI century. This is probably a translation from a hieroglyphic book possessed by the Quiché elders.

You know, translation of a translation of a bunch of legends… in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about! Please go on planning holiday for 2013, probably there is a good price awaiting out there…

It is not impossible for us to assist, during our lifetime, at a major event which will affect entire planet. But I have serious doubts that such event can be anticipated with many hundreds of years before.
